| How they love the swing at our land! |
It is all to easy for me to fall into the temptation of thinking that my kids are inconveniencing me, or even worse are an inconvenience. They aren't! God says they are a gift from Him AND my reward!
"Behold, children are a gift of the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward."
Psalm 127:3 (NASB)
He has rewarded me with these two wonderful, precious, vibrant, learning, growing, joy-bringing boys! I often call them my "little wonderful(s)" And although they are wonderful, and I still call them that, in meditating on this verse over the last few months, I have been encouraged to start "saying it like it is", or using the words that God uses to describe my children. So now, I often call them "my little gifts, my reward, my son" It is amazing how just these simple words can change my heart and attitude if I practice patiently using them when I am interrupted by, or otherwise having a bad attitude toward my boys! God's truth changes hearts! Praise Him!
"and a voice came out of the heavens: 'You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased.' "
Mark 1: 11

Anna, thanks for posting this. In becoming a new mom, I definitely fall into the temptation of thinking my kids are plotting to make things harder on me :) Even though I know that's not true, meditating on verses such as these really helps me to see them differently- thanks for the reminder!
Anna, I love this post! I needed it today!
