Keeps us guessing

David likes to keep things lively around here. Just when Peter and I think he has settled into a schedule, he decides to change things up. Last week was growth spurt week so he decided to eat every two hours, every hour in the evening and then he spent the middle of the night crying, for reasons yet unknown. I figure he has alot of catching up growth to do...and now he is a great eater compared to when we first brought him home. Based on his previous growth, my guess is he's about 9 lbs. by now! Thankfully, he has once again settled back into his schedule and will sleep around 5-6 hours after first going to sleep at night. He is learning new baby tricks too! He is starting to talk a little bit. He will coo and often if I coo back, he returns the favor and the two of us will go back and forth...all the while he is smiling...he likes to talk. He also will smile when we talk to him. He gets an especially big grin on his face when Dad talks to him. We noticed lately that he favors turning his head to the left so I've been working on some stretches with him. After being placed on his left side to sleep for most of his life to help with reflux, I'm not surprised he has a little bit of a stiff neck. I don't think it is torticollis at this point but I'm keeping my eyes out. Incidentally, the reflux seems under control...and without meds thank goodness....I don't like pumping the poor little kid full of medicine. Above are some pitures of David with his new elephant jungle pal toy from his Aunt Laura.

Oh wow! He already looks different from when I saw him ONE week ago! He looks older and a little bigger! I'm happy he likes the elephant toy. Maybe he can name him "Phenty" like my puppet elephant I liked so much as a kid!
