A glimpse into male competitiveness

The other night, Peter watched the boys so I could go workout and do a little Easter shopping.  David had been wanting to play games and I had told him that we probably could after Jonah went to bed...so I passed that word along to Peter.  I had a great time picking out Easter presents for the boys (can't wait for them to get them:).  When I got home and was asking how it went, Peter had a very animated story for me.  He was literally flustered by this story: "David beat me twice in "Ice Hop" and three times in a row in "Candyland!"  He then proceeded to tell me the details of the plays of the game (Yes, he told me which and when he or David drew certain cards...hilarious!).  At one point he had told David that they would keep playing Candyland until Peter won, but they didn't because the last game lasted so long.  Anyway, the boys were asleep when I got home, and, as usual, I went to check on them before I went to bed.  David sat up in bed when he felt Peter kiss him (which was weird because he hardly ever wakes up when I check on him).  When I went over to give him a kiss, with a froggy, groggy, half-asleep voice, he said "Mama! I beat Daddy in Candyland THWEE times!"  Then he snuggled back down with Teddy, stuck his thumb in his mouth, and closed his eyes.  I walked out of there laughing as quietly as I could, then burst out laughing when I came out of the room!
