Pretending

Big boy!

Playing "house"

Making a beard with soap bubbles:)

David has officially entered the pretending world!  It is a blast to watch him come up with ideas all on his own.  Some examples:

Yesterday, Auntie Rachel was drawing on the driveway with sidewalk chalk.  David asked her to draw a dump truck, which she did.  Then he asked her to draw a ladder.  He then proceeded to 'climb' the ladder, sat down in the cab of the truck and started 'driving' the dump truck...very cute!

He likes to pretend cook.  Mostly he makes soup and these are his most common flavors: chocolate, strawberry, yummy, mama and hot!  He has started branching out in his culinary creations somewhat.  Yesterday, he brought me into the study to have a picnic, where he had already set up our 'chairs', which were two pillows facing each other on the floor.  Then, he handed me a hamburger and chocolate soup for lunch:)  He also commonly prays for both his pretend meals and for our real meals.  He'll say something like, "Yank you for Mama and Dada and Teddy and David and Auntie Rachel and Aunt Laura and food!  AMEN!"

Today, he was carrying around a couch pillow saying over and over, "I'm packing!"  So, I said, "what are you packing for?"  He replied, "to go to Norf Dakota!  Want to go to Norf Dakota wif me, Mama?"
