All by self!

I just read the post I put up in March.  It is amazing how much better David is already talking just since then!  We have been working on respectful speech.  So, whenever he asks for something, he needs to say, "May I have some milk, please?"  He hasn't gotten to the point where he spontaneously says this.  So, I prompt him with "May I?"  His immediate response is, "David do it! May I have some milk, please?"  In fact, he is very much in a "David do it" stage.  If he wants to do something, he tries it, asks for help if he can't do it, then gets frustrated or throws a fit if I start to help him, even if he has just asked for help!

We are continuing to potty train, although accidents are almost always still a daily occurence.  He is stuck at the spot where he has to be told to sit on the potty.  If I don't tell him, he has an accident and will not tell me he has to go.  In fact, he never says that the has to go, even when he is rubbing his knees together and prancing around like crazy!  I know he'll get there one day!!  His pace is just a whole lot slower than I would like!

It sounds like David is definitely becoming more independent...or at least trying to be! Sorry the potty training isn't going as well as hoped, but I guess some progress is better than none!
