This week, he also learned from Grandma that skunks are pew-y. Except that his "pew-y" turned into "shew-ew-ewwy, YU, yuCK!" He also can't really say "skunk" so it acutally sounds more like "goat" or "cunk!" The word "giraffes" sounds more like "jips." And since he frequently NEEDS to say it quickly, "teddy" sounds like "day." Amy didn't know what David was saying when he said "teddy" so she kept repeating what she heard which was "day". David thought that was hysterical and rewarded Amy over and over with his contagious belly laugh.
On Christmas morning, David opened his stocking first. The first thing he pulled out was a tiny stuffed dog. He immediately hugged it, gave it a kiss and started walking around with it. He would have been perfectly content to be done with presents. Even tonight, he took that tiny dog, which he affectionately calls "dog" said with kind of a Texas-like twang, to bed with him. Slowly but surely, with some coaxing, he got to his other presents. His Grammie and Grandpa Letvin got him a WHOLE bunch of realstic plastic animals. One of them was a buffalo....he kissed it:) Of all those animals, he especially likes the giraffe and the cow. He carries those two around the house, one in each hand. Kind of a weird combo, don't you think?! Cute, though, how he attached himself to those two right away. He also really liked his wooden train set from Aunt Amy and his markers from Auntie Rachel. He cried when I told him he had to be all done coloring so he could take his nap.
David enjoyed hours of playtime with Grandma. Then ran and ran and ran around in the basement and did a bunch of other things that made David laugh and laugh. In the mornings, while they were here, he would wake up asking for "Gamma, Gampa, or Ahh-Amy" He adores them (and the feeling is definitely mutal!). He will be sad when he wakes up tomorrow and they are gone:( But, we are looking forward to a week of having Peter home and to our 5th anniversary on December 30th!
