David graduated from his infant car seat to this "big boy carseat" the day we went Christmas tree cutting. This is his Christmas present from us, but we cheated and let him use it early:)
This tree is David-sized!
So, I changed the editing settings to and updated version and I'm having more trouble with it than I did with the old one!!! Needless to say, I'm a little exasperated!!! Sorry about the wierdness of the layout.
We went Christmas tree cutting with our good friends (the Lowes, an annual tradition) and some new good friends who moved here from California this summer. It was snowy white and cold and oh so fun! David liked to "walk snow" and point to all the trees. We strayed from our usual fir tree and thought we would try a pine. They are heavier but more plenitful and generally don't require as much "help" in being made to look fuller:) We enjoyed a picnic lunch and Chrismas cookies after all the families had their trees. Then it was back home to put up the tree and decorate it. David loved looking at all the ornaments and putting them on. Now he looks for "showmin" (snowmen) and "deew" (deer) on the tree. Every morning he looks at the tree and says "Oh, BIG twee, Oh WOW!, no touch" (because now that the ornaments are on, he is not allowed to take them off:) His favorite game of late it to play "peek-boo twee" during which he runs to the side of the tree and waits for me to come around the corner to "boo" him.
He now enjoys riding in our vehicles facing forward and I like it because I can see him when I turn around in the car. We are looking forward to a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Sperle and Aunt Amy next week for Christmas!!!! And then it's off to Texas to visit Aunt Laura, Uncle Matt and Uncle Josh and to meet baby Will!!!

Of course, I love it all!!! Especially sweet: David and his David sized tree out in the forest(!) and David putting on ornaments---just tugs at my Grandma heart! And I am so excited to think about hugging y'all for real in not too long! :)
I LOVE the pictures of David putting the ornaments on the tree! However, after seeing these pictures, I'm even more sad I can't come visit next week. Take LOTS of Christmas pictures! I bet your tree looks really cool!
