First camping trip

Here are some picture of David's first camping trip. We went to the Flat Tops Wilderness, which as you can see, is beautiful. Mosquitos really like that area too. David got away without a single bite:) We had a really fun time and were away for long enough to really appreciate getting back home again. David also enjoyed a visit from the Hanson's: Great Aunt Nori, Great Uncle Mark, and Bethany and Jordan, first cousins once removed, if I'm remembering family relations correctly! David is cooing more and more these days and has started to laugh, which is way fun for us. During our drive to the Flat Tops, I was playing with him with his little horse toy. He thought it was the most hilarious thing and his cute little laugh was entertaining for all. He also is very interested in his surroundings. He reaches for anything he finds intriguing. He is at the point now that it is dangerous to wear hair down or have on a special necklace! When we put him on his playmat, he squirms around so much that he rarely stays in the same place. Sunday morning, I put him down and went in the other room to get ready for church. When I came back into the living room, I said to David "when I put you down, your feet were facing the opposite direction, and you don't have socks on anymore!" (which made Peter laugh:) He is definitely getting heavier too. That I can feel during our morning walks! As his great Aunt Nori says, "he is so sturdy!" He likes to stand and he is sure to smile if you lift him up overhead. He has completely lost his newborn cry. He is a joy and pretty much the cutest thing Peter and I have ever seen!:)

I NEED to hear David laugh! I can't even really imagine what he would sound like! I think I need to start planning a trip to CO soon!
