Breaking Ground on Our House!

Father's Day weekend: Peter rented an excavator and dug holes for our septic system, cellar and tunnels for electrical and water tubing

Peter's comment after working all weekend: "When I am rich and famous, I am going to buy one of these things and do work for people for fun!"

David in little boy heaven: watching Daddy run big equipment.  David got to have a ride in the cab too:)

More little boy heaven: giant piles of dirt!!!

David throwing "rocks" (really lumps of clay) at dirt piles which he was pretending was Goliath:)

Cute baby:)

Cellar hole with tunnel/pipe for draining water...hopefully no wet cellar for us!
This post is totally outdated, but I am glad to finally be getting caught up a little bit (again:).  We officially broke ground for our house on June 16!!  It has been amazing to watch what Peter has been able to accomplish and for our house plans to be in the making instead of just in our (and by "our", I mean mostly Peter's) heads!  We are so excited to be living on our land one day...it is so peaceful and beautiful there! On a note of praise, we were so thankful to have the Lord answer our prayers for a rural water grant to be approved!  This means that the state will pay for 75% of the cost of having rural water installed (an estimated average cost of $30,000!) The remaining 25% will be paid by us as a monthly fee on our water bill.  This means that we have next to $0 upfront cost, so that we will be able to build our house and move to our land much much sooner!
