We enjoyed celebrating David's 1st birthday with Peter's parents and friends. David loves Teddy Bears and soft things, so I made him a Teddy Bear cake. It was my first attempt at a cake with the cake decorating tools Peter got me for Christmas. It was fun, easier than I thought and turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself:) David was spoiled, as usual, despite requests for no gifts...people don't listen to me apparently! But, the gifts are appreciated none the less and David has already enjoyed them. Here he is eating his cupcake, which happened to have a lot less frosting than the teddy bear cake:) He likes chocolate!

After the smashing bit, I like how he so purposefully uses the pinching process to pick up a piece!
It's funny how far back in his mouth David sticks his cake. He's much neater than the other babies I've seen!
