David's Dedication

David after his dedication

"What is under there? ooooohh!!!! dustbunnies!!:)....and..."

my thumb!"

Peter and I dedicated David to God on Sunday, September 13! Here is the commitment we made if you are interested:

Dedication of Commitment
Today we come before God and before this church, His body, to
dedicate this child to Christ, and to dedicate ourselves by God’s
grace, to do whatever is necessary to accomplish Christ's purpose in
his/her life, regardless of what God may require of us, putting at His
disposal for this purpose whatever time, money, effort and sacrifice is
required to be a steward for God of this young life He has entrusted to us.
We accept as our duty and privilege to live before this child a life that
becomes the Gospel and is worthy of the calling Christ has given us; to
exercise all godly care that he/she be taught to see the Scriptures as God’s
Holy Word to man, and to read, love and obey those Scriptures, and to help
him/her learn through our example and instruction that God desires our
prayers and can be trusted in His answers.
We will endeavor to always keep this child within the ministry and influence
of a believing local church and thus allow Christ’s Spirit, through his local
body, to be at work in this child.
We today commit ourselves to be a partner with God in His purposes for our
child by praying for his/her salvation and for the fulfillment of God’s good
purposes in his/her life.
Heavenly Father, knowing that your will
is our hope for our lives,
and that you have made this child
so that he/she might belong to you forever,
we dedicate him/her to You,
and ourselves to Your service on his/her behalf.

David is so much fun! He is so alert and interested in whatever is going on around him. His latest thing is squealing while making an "eek" face. I'll have to try to capture it for you so you can see what it looks like. Of course, his mouth is a magnet for whatever he can grab...and he'll try to grab anything...this morning he was very interested in Mama's glasses:) We are excited to have his Aunt Laura come in 2 weeks...and then David and I are off to see Great Grandma Theresa and family for 2 weeks in October:)

I like the family picture--your hair looks really nice! In the middle picture, did David just wake up from a nap? He has that "just woke up" look.

What a beautiful dedication--David is lucky to have you and Peter as his parents. :)

Laura always beats me to the comment section! And often says the same thing/s I was thinking! I love that you captured a picture of what David was really doing while searching under the couch! I think he must visibly be changing/growing every day! He looks so much like a little boy in these latest pictures! I, too, really like your new haircut!

I will echo the Sperle girls in saying that I think your hair looks really good!

That dedication is so sweet and very well worded. I am excited for you two to be going to California!
