6 month stats!

I didn't realize it has been a couple of weeks since I posted anything. Sorry! I'm sure many of you are going through withdrawals, you know, not seeing cute little David for so long:) We have been busy the last couple of weeks with church commitments and yard work and trying to stay cool in this record-breaking heat (I can believe I'm saying that, considering that pretty much anything is mild compared to Texas summers!) We enjoyed a visit from the Matta's, my dad's sister's family last week. They were out here helping to get Andrew settled into his new place. As always, it was so good to see them and as always, it was way too short. David liked meeting more of his family and I'm pretty sure the Matta's liked meeting him! We all got fired up about needing to have a Sperle family reunion right here in Colorado next summer. It NEEDS to happen:) We are excited to have Andrew living close to us now. Colorado does that to a person...makes you want to move to it:)

David has been experiencing his first cold the last week. Drippy nose, hoarse voice and a little bit more fussy. We weren't sure if it was teething or just a cold. Doc said today likely just a cold. He seems to be feeling a little bit better every day...except today...because today was shot day. I thought maybe it wouldn't be too bad because David got to have "Snoopy" band-aids...he didn't seem to care about those too much (they would have made his dad feel better if his dad were the one getting the shots:) Really, he is a trooper though and has just spent most of the day sleeping.

We are headed off to North Dakota early Thursday morning. This will be our first long trip in the car with David so we are praying all goes well. David is going to be able to meet lots of his family.

We babysat one of David's friends, Lindy the other night. She was a good helper and was eager to give David his pacifier.

So after all that rambling, I guess I could actually write what I intended when I began, David's stats...one of the more popular questions I get asked. As of today, he weighs 11 lbs. 9 oz. and is 24 1/8 in. long. Yeah for growing David!!!:)

You are right--I was going through withdrawals and I was about to send you an e-mail asking you to post new pictures! How fun that you had a visit from the Matta's! I TOTALLY agree that we should have a Sperle reunion in CO!!

I hope you guys have a really nice time in North Dakota. David sure is growing...I can't wait to see him again!
